Acne, which stands for ‘ambition to create novel expressions’, was launched in 1996 as a creative consultancy brand bridging the gap between art, fashion, entertainment and technology. The following year, founder and Creative Director Jonny Johansson began to develop the brand’s clothing line and released a denim collection.
